Discover the incredible world of woodcarving in this class dedicated to creating a beautiful carved ornament!

Our instructor, Ken, will guide students through (safely!) carving wood using a variety of techniques- which will add character and charm to your piece!

Finally, Ken will walk you through the steps of successfully completing your piece with wood finishes.

Materials to create one project in class are included in the cost of tuition!

Ceramics Studios: To ensure the appropriate firing temperatures and to protect the kilns, all clay must be purchased through the Paramount Center for the Arts, no outside clay bodies or glazes should be introduced to the Studios. If you have any questions about clay and glazes, please connect with our Ceramics Technician.

Supplies and Materials: For the safety and wellbeing of all visitors to the Paramount, we ask that materials that are used in the studios are the recommended brands and grade, as described in the materials list, or are approved by Paramount Staff.

Create beautiful and unique cards to send to friends and loved one using the paper quilling techniques!

Paper quilling is a process of rolling strips of paper and gluing into place to create fun and unique shapes and designs, perfect as a stand alone piece or to add a fun touch on other works!

Absolutely no experience is needed, Andrea will guide the class step by step sharing tips for finding success as you create your own beautiful design!

Materials needed to create one piece in class are included in the cost of tuition, but the techniques you learn can be applied on future projects you create on your own!

Create beautiful one of a kind jewelry using the small pieces of glass set into designs of your choosing, a process called mosaic!

Terri will guide through the process of safely cutting and assembling glass into the jewelry bezel. Once you are happy with your design you will learn how to grout your piece! Once dried, you will have a piece as unique as you, perfect for yourself or as a gift for a loved one!

Please note that students will need to allow their glue to dry and then grout at home. Don't worry! We will show you how to grout, send the materials, and instructions for success!

Ages 18+

Make a beautiful canoe paddle with woodworker Chuck Rose!

Topics including wood selection, blade shape, length and more will be covered the first evening of class, along with hands on experience, with the evening concluding with the gluing of the paddle. 

Sunday, the class will be spent cutting, shaping, and finishing the paddle to fit your body and paddling preferences!

Explore the exciting world of traditional rosemaling with professional artist and Vesterheim Gold Medalist Patti Goke!

Rosemaling is a decorative style of painting, traditionally on wood, utilizing beautiful elements of Norwegian folk art. Patti will walk the class through holding your brush and techniques on successfully creating two different designs, with a variety of brush strokes!
