CC7: Morning Clay Camp (ages 7-10)

Join us for the AMAZING world of Clay Camp!
If you love being creative & getting messy, this camp is totally for you! At Clay Camp, you’ll kick things off by creating awesome projects like pinch pots, coil pots, and even your own sculptures—all by hand! But wait… there’s more!
Try the Pottery Wheel!Ever wanted to spin clay on a real pottery wheel? You’ll get to learn how to center your clay and shape it into shapes like bowls and cylinders!
Glaze Time = Color Explosion!After your projects are created, you’ll bring them to life with bright, bold, colorful glazes that make your creations totally YOUR OWN. Learn ceramic terms, try new techniques, and make awesome art you’ll be proud to show off!
Important: Your projects will need to be fired in our kilns (they get SUPER hot, over 1,800 degrees!). This process takes about 3–4 weeks after camp ends. We’ll email you when your artwork is ready to pick up!

Class Ages: Because projects are designed with the specific age groups identified, students must be the minimum age listed on the start date of camp.
Transportation: Families are responsible for arranging transportation of their students. Students should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the start of classes and picked-up no later than 15 minutes after camps end. Safety is our top priority, please ensure that Camp Staff are present before leaving your student-
Art Show: Each week will culminate with an Art Show the final 20 minutes of camp, where we welcome friends and family to celebrate the work of students! Work that is ready to go home may be collected upon departure. Work that needs to be fired in a kiln will remain on site. The Paramount will send an email once the work is ready for pick-up (typically three or four weeks after the final day of camp)
Clothing: Please send your child in clothes that can get messy! Closed toed shoes (no sandals) help keep feet protected while in studio.
Lunch: If your student is registered for both morning and afternoon camps in a week, they are welcome to remain on site and eat lunch with our staff! Students should bring their own bag lunch; students will not be able to leave the facility to purchase lunch off site or have access to vending machines. Due to allergy concerns, we ask that no tree nut or peanut products be sent.
Electronics: We ask that devices, including phones or tablets, be turned to silent mode during camps. Ringtones and alerts can be distracting in the creative environment. The Paramount is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen devices.

VA7: Motion Makers: Creating Stop Motion! (ages 11-14)

Lights, Cameras… STOP MOTION!
This camp is all about getting your hands moving and your imagination flying! You’ll explore all kinds of cool techniques, from making awesome flip books to creating characters with clay, using fun cutouts, and even animating your favorite toys and building bricks!
And that’s not all! We’ll take a trip back in time to discover some of the incredible the history of animation. You’ll learn all about amazing old-school devices like praxinoscopes and zoetropes that make drawings "come to life" with motion!
Join us for a super fun adventure packed with creativity, laughter, and tons of animated magic! Let’s create some awesome stop motion projects together!
*Please note that capturing images and video of students may be an element for some projects in this class, parent/guardian authorization will be needed-

VA8: The Great Quest to Create Cartoons! (ages 7-10)

Unleash your imagination in our fun-filled cartooning camp!
Here, you'll have the chance to create your own characters and entire worlds, exploring different cartoon styles and focusing on the ones that are of interest to you! You’ll learn how to convey emotions, design dynamic backgrounds, and bring your ideas and characters to life! Your characters will also need an adventure or two, so we will explore how to tell a story through your cartoon! From the future in outer space, prehistoric dinosaurs, or something in between, it is all up to you!
Not only will you create awesome single-frame cartoons that are perfect for displaying, but you’ll also put together your very own cartoon book and comic strip. It’s the perfect way to showcase your creativity and storytelling skills!
